Oregon’s Attorney General leads press conference at Q-Center to unveil new hate crimes reporting system. It involves a certain level of anonymity and a website. Oregon’s hate crimes laws do not include gender identity.

“In direct response to last Wednesday’s [forum],” reports a Portland-based gay, bisexual, transgender and “questioning” organization in a press release Tuesday, “Oregon Attorney General John Kroger and Sean Riddell from the Oregon Department of Justice plan to announce the establishment of a confidential hate-crimes reporting system.”

Featuring a panel presentation with representatives from: U.S. Attorney’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Office of the Attorney General, State of Oregon, Multnomah Co. District Attorney’s Office, Portland Police Bureau, Coalition Against Hate Crimes, Portland Office of Human Relations.
