Rick Santorum: prohibiting gay marriage and adoption is “common sense”

Submitted By: Fabulous Rob on January 22, 2011 One Comment

Rick Santorum, 2012 potential presidential candidate, said in an interview that banning same-sex marriage and adoption is ‘common sense’.  More from The Advocate:

The former Republican senator from Pennsylvania spoke with CNS News editor in chief Terry Jeffrey, who asked Santorum about marriage equality and adoption by gays, which Jeffrey described as “if the state takes a child and sticks it into a same-sex couple.”

Santorum agreed that marriage equality and same-sex adoption are a violation of natural law that the state should not sanction.

“The state is not doing a service to the child and to society by not putting that child in a home where there is a mother and a father,” he said. “This is common sense. This is nature.”

If by “common sense” you mean an irrational belief that you have in common with other bigots, then yes it’s “common sense”.
