Following the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, returned a ring to Lt. Dan Choi.  Choi asked Reid to return the ring when the law was repealed.

Reid posted a photo of the two with Choi’s West Point class ring and said he was “so happy” to return the ring to Choi.

Choi responded on Twitter, “The next time I get a ring from a man, I expect it to be for full, equal, American marriage.”

The meeting in Reid’s office Wednesday was a high point between the two. In n a moment of frustration over the Senate’s stalling on “don’t ask, don’t tell” in October, Choi called Reid a slur and a “DADT Fail.”

He later apologized.
