Texas native Vickie Shaw is one of today’s hottest lesbian comics.

As a mother of three and grandmother of one, Vickie was the poster girl for the traditional family—until she came out as a lesbian, ended her marriage and began performing as a stand-up comic.

Vickie can be seen in the award-winning film “Laughing Matters…More,” along with her own standup comedy special: “You Can Take the Girl Outta Texas…,” currently airing on MTV’s LOGO Network and available on DVD. She has been featured on COMEDY CENTRAL’s Premium Blend, WE Network’s “The Secret Lives of Women: Late-in-Life Lesbians,” and LOGO’s Wisecrack comedy series.

Glo can be seen in “Laughing Matters…Next Gen,” the fourth film in the award-winning “Laughing Matters” series. “Next Gen” features an up-close look at an inspiring cast of up and coming queer comics. The film is currently airing on MTV’s LOGO Network and available on DVD. She has also been featured on LOGO’s “AfterEllen.com’s One Night Stand Up,” HERE TV’s “Hot Gay Comics” and “U People,” a documentary about queer Brooklynites of color. Gloria is a co-host of “Cherry Bomb,” a weekly vlog that airs on SheWired.com. Glo has performed in numerous festivals including the 2009 Outlaugh Comedy Festival, New York Underground Comedy Festival, and Michigan Womyn’s Festival.

Gloria was recently nominated for the LOGO’s Brink of Fame Comedy Award and was named in Curve Magazine’s “Funniest Lesbians in America” issue.
