Maddow and Miller Talk DADT Repeal

Rachel Maddow interviewed former West Point cadet Katie Miller, who reapplied to the military academy only to be rejected because the effective date of “don’t ask, don’t tell” repeal remains undetermined.  More from The Advocate:

Miller, currently enrolled at Yale, said she would not apply to West Point again. She plans to enter the military through officer candidate school after graduation.

Maddow and Miller discussed progress toward repeal, which optimistic assessments put at September. The roll out includes training for military members, certification and then a 60-day waiting period. Miller called the training requirement “a political scheme in order to appease the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”
