Kendall Goes To Washington
Portland’s Kendall Clawson, Executive Director of the Q-Center recently traveled to the White House to represent Oregon (along with Terry Bean) as President Obama signed the Shepard/Byrd Hate Crimes Law!
As many of you have heard, I had the opportunity to travel to Washington DC last week to attend the Matthew Shepherd James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Commemoration event at the White House. This event marked a historic moment for the LGBT community: it was the first federal LGBT civil rights act that was signed into law and I was fortunate enough to be present for its enactment.
