Indianapolis bakery won’t make gay cupcakes
An Indianapolis bakery refused to complete an order of rainbow cupcakes and cookies for a local gay student group for National Coming Out Day next month.
From The Advocate:
According to Fox 59, the Just Cookies bakery at the City Market refused the order from the student group at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
“This is what they were after: a multicolored cupcake to celebrate ‘National Coming Out Day’ next month; a rainbow confection to honor the diversity on the campus of IUPUI,” reported Fox 59. “But the student who had the order placed at Just Cookies was told no.”
Bakery owners David and Lilly Stockton gave conflicting reasons for the denial, but Mr. Stockton eventually admitted concern about what message the rainbow confections would send to their two “young, impressionable daughters.” He compared the idea to a cupcake with an obscenity.
The student group found another Indianapolis business, The Flying Cupcake Bakery, that would accommodate them.

idiots. the store is called JUST COOKIES!
JUST COOKIES
they do not make cupcakes
Well – the place is called “just cookies” and the flying cupcake sucks. I placed a large order with them and it was all kinds of messed up twice… Why not just order the cupcakes and not make such a big fat deal about what they are for??
Every person has a right to say no. Business or not. They shouldn’t have to have an excuse.
From henceforth I will support Just Cookies … I am sick and tired of these gays and lesbians controlling our lives
As the only group of people without full equal rights, I would say WE are the ones tired of others controlling OUR lives.
