The mutilated body of a well-known gay journalist from Portugal was
found in an Times Square hotel room Friday night, allegedly killed by
his younger lover during a fight about money.
- Congresswoman Shot at Public Event

Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was among several others who
was shot at close range at a public event at a Safeway grocery
store in Tucson, Ariz., on Saturday. At last report the 40-year-old Giffords was in critical condition and recovering from surgery.

The leader of Rhode Island’s Roman Catholics said marriage equality is “morally wrong” and that the newly sworn-in governor and other lawmakers should not be pushing to legalize it in his state.

The restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A has responded to outcries about its
sponsorship of a rally supporting traditional marriage in Pennsylvania,
saying it provides food for several kinds of events.

a same-sex divorce case because he only sought to become involved after
a district court judge ruled on the case.
