    A group of Houston area pastors has called on Mayor Annise Parker to rescind an executive order she signed last week banning discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. Watch the video here.

    A Facebook page set up by Constance McMillen’s Mississippi peers has drawn both detractors and supporters of the gay high school student who wished to take a female date to her prom.


  • Cyndi Launching LGBT Youth Shelter in Harlem
    Pop icon Cyndi Lauper announced that her True Colors Foundation will establish a shelter for homeless LGBT youths in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood.
  • Drones Sent to Search for Mitrice
    An unmanned aerial drone is being sent out to look for Mitrice Richardson, a woman who has been missing for seven months after sheriff’s deputies who arrested her released her from the station without a wallet, cell phone, or vehicle.
  • ENDA Vote Approaches
    Although the effort to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act this year has been declared dead by Capitol Hill insiders on occasion, signs of life are starting to emerge.
  • Court Decision Imminent in India
    A decision is expected any day in India regarding the legality of consensual gay sex between adults. According to The Wall  Street Journal, the country’s supreme court will decide whether to overturn last year’s Delhi high court decision to  decriminalize such acts.
  • Mark Foley Eyes Mayor Seat
    Former U.S. representative Mark Foley, who was driven from office in 2007 when it was revealed that he had sent sexually explicit messages to congressional pages, is eyeing a possible run for mayor of West Palm Beach, Fla.

  • Israeli Consulate Hosts LGBT Festival
    An Israeli consulate general has partnered with Bay Area Jewish community groups to produce a monthlong festival on LGBT culture in Israel featuring several films, including Yossi & Jagger, and other events in San Francisco and the surrounding area.
  • Facebook Fan Page Reinstated
    A gay author whose Facebook fan page was removed because of the title of his book says the social networking site’s  administrators have reinstated the page.
