Portland Summer Showcase:  LGBT picnic and concert at Washington Park

Horizon Events is proud to announce our next big event, Portland Summer Showcase an outdoor music and arts event designed to showcase various forms of talent within the LGBT community, while giving the community an opportunity to gather together, socialize, and enjoy local entertainment.

Portland Summer Showcase has two intended purposes. The first is to showcase local artist from the LGBT community.  Secondly, Portland Summer Showcase is intended to give the community an opportunity to gather together in a community building manner.

Portland Summer Showcase will feature 4-6 live musicians from within the local LGBT community, performing on the stage at the Washington Park Amphitheater. Each entertainer will have a booth at which to sell CDs, shirts, bumper stickers, or anything else band related. There will be 50 other booths for artist, vendors, and nonprofits. Twenty booths will be designated for artists of various sorts, with the remaining 30 booths divided up between vendors, and nonprofits. A large open area will be designated for families and individuals to picnic and watch the entertainment.

Those entertainers who perform will be given a booth at cost. A $50 fee will be assessed to cover the cost of the booth. All revenues from said booth are theirs to keep.

The remaining 30 booths will be available to vendors, nonprofits, and any remaining artists not chosen, who wish to still be part of the event. Booths will be available on a first come basis. Cost breakdowns are as follows:

Basic vendor booths- $175

Food vendors (limited to six) – $225

Nonprofit booths- $125

Horizon Events strives to give back to the community in which we exist. Although this event is quite costly to put on, we will be giving 25% of all vendor booth fees and sponsorship dollars to local organizations. In addition, there will be an opportunity at the event to ask for donations from the audience. Although no organization has yet been confirmed, we are strongly hoping that The Q Center will be one of the beneficiary of this event.
