Congratulations to the fledgling Portland Latino Gay Pride for awarding a significant scholarship in its first few years of existence. Holla!

From the Bearracuda Organizers: We are still beaming from the last Bearracuda party, where we packed 500+ people into Rotture/Branx. Portland has quickly become our biggest party on the West Coast…even bigger than the ones we have in our hometown of San Francisco.

Six military people, all either dismissed or in the process of dismissal, chained themselves to the White House fence in protest of the current Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy. Lt. Dan Choi was among the protesters (second time for him.)

Generally, the wackier, the zanier, the more bizarre, the better. That doesn’t mean you can’t do a serious act. Just keep in mind that the audience is primed for comedy. We’d like to stress that it doesn’t have to be mind-blowing or your best work ever. It’s not too serious of a show. We’re just trying to have some fun and raise some money for a good cause while we’re at it.

Transactive responds to the misrepresented and misinterpreted “research” disseminated by the American College of Pediatricians…which serves to…perpetuate and even institutionalize the emotional and physical abuse of transgender and gender non-conforming children and youth of every sexual orientation.

All that is fabulous and fun in Portland for the Weekend of April 17-18 and into the next week. That’s 2010.
